i have got my tranny out and ready to rip into it....until i seen this sticker that says..."ATTENTION switches must be removed from transmision before disassembly.switches can only be installed after completly assembling case halves.failure to follow this procedure will result in component damage"
what switches are they talking about???

Dave, they should be talking about the electrical switch (or switches) on the trans. You should have had at least one plug on the trans. That is what they would be talking about. It might damage the switch re-assembling it which is why they would tell you to remove it. Bubba

Do you have a shop manual or are you just tearing into it? Get the manual!

I have ordered a shop manual and figured it would be here today but it is not and I am getting anxious!!!!
I had the bike on a stand with the back wheels in the air...I revved it a few times and whamo!! tires stopped and tranny fluid oozed from the broken case!!!
well I have the tranny out now.. I removed the otput shaft tO the front drive shaft and noticed a big chunk of gear missing!!!!
It looks like somehow while the wheels were spinning it kicked into four wheel drive!
anyone ever heard of this happening?...faulty swtch on handlebar?
anyone know of a used tranny or parts...rt side case, front output shaft??
gotta get this pile running

A friend of mine had a 400 scrambler 4x4 and after he had the HSP pipe silencer and clutch kit installed it would kick into 4wd when he would spin the rear tires excessively. One time it actually threw him off sideways. He took it back to the dealer and they said that they could not find anything wrong with it.

Hey ****, I haven't seen your troubles yet but it sounds more hideous then I thought. If you can't seem to fix this "pile" as YOU say what do you want to do to it??? I can think of a few things.

Did you check the polaris tech site?**** helper See ya on Sat. Maybe we can rip that thing appart.

LOCOMOFO,
Look at ebay, I just saw a trans from a 96 Scrambler 4X4 for $100.
