I have a 1996 trx 300 4x4 and I have rebuild the top end. After I got everything together I fired it up and ran fine but then I noticed that I had a oil leak at the bottom of the right side plate. I removed the cover and fixed the oil leak but when I went to fire it up again I could not get my neutral light to come on therefore it wouldn't start. My Question is : is there anything that I may have disconnected while removing the side cover? If not any other ideas on where to look next???

I'm not sure if it's the same, but my Big Red had 2 wires that ran down to a set of connectors on the lower right side of the engine. That's where the neutral and reverse light switches are located on that bike. My reverse wire was disconnected on my Big Red, thus it wouldn't work until I plugged it back in). My 300's lights work fine so I haven't looked at it to see if it's the same.
