Just purchased a Graydon full pipe for my Speed. Is it necessary to remap for the pipe or can I just run the Speed map? Will it run too lean? Has anyone installed an aftermarket pipe without remapping? How did it run? Thanks for the help.

Buddah,

Have you had the injector offset changed. As they break in the injectors flow more than what the computer thinks causeing a rich condition. If you haven't you should be fine without it. I still need to get mine dialed in as the Trinity Port and Polish will flow more air. It was rich before they did the work.

I have heard that you don't need to remap if you just slip on the pipe.

What kind of front tires do you and Sandgod run in the sand?

Smitty

Smitty, we both run Shredders on the front. The rib in the middle of the tire works really well for turning in the sand. Probably the best knobbie I've used for sand.
I bought my Speed used and I'm almost certain the injectors were never touched. I'm just curious if anyone has bolted on an aftermarket pipe without remapping. I plan on getting the moto mapping anyway but I need some input on the Speed mapping with a pipe.

Why would you not remap, the cost is minimal, some dealers actually do it for free. Why risk doing damage to a $7K quad!!??

I do plan on getting the moto mapping. My dealer will do it for no charge. I just wanted to know how the Speed map works with an aftermarket pipe.

Definatly do a re-map. I put a complete Graydon system on and found that it has a few flat spots using the Moto mapping, contact Graydon to try to get a custom map for their exhaust. With just a slip-on silencer, the Moto mapping is fine.
