top speed of the Sportsman 700 twin?

i know the P650 has better acceleration but i think the top speed is faster than the 650. iv sen a race between a sp700, and grizz660, and a praire650, and the prairie had the best acceleration, but not by much. The sp700's power let loose at about 1/8 mile then won the race. it beat the p650 by 2 lenghts and the griz by about 4 lenghts. The race was about a mile and a half.

I always get a little confused about these "top speed" post on 600-800lb 4x4 quads. I mean i think 60 is plenty fast for all of them. Now if quad "a" gets to 64mph in 5 seconds and quad "b" gets to 64mph in 8 seconds, but passes quad "a" 2 miles later, wich one is funner? Let's be honest here. How many people here can honestly say they ride there big 4x4 to top speed most of the time they ride? If you ride on terrain that allows you to open up your big 4X4 that much, you must be riding on some pretty flat/straight terrain which makes me wonder why you have that big, heavy, 4X4 to begin with. Well a couple of examples where we recently used the top speeds in upstate NY.
Long distance between difficult areas on long flat dirt roads and paved.
Trying to beat a big storm back to camp on long flat roads.
The look i get on my 700lb quad flying past one of those buzz rocket sporty's.
The look on the buzz rocket riders face when he realizes he has to do 80mph to pass me.
The local game warden checking regs and trying to catch us on his little honda 400.
We ride hard and fast between the mud, rocks places. Usually in the 50's as the little hondas have trouble keeping up, except them 3 wheelers. They're dang fast

2000MOJAVE, Why would you think the top speed on a Sport Utility is unimportant?
In my experience we usually ride either wide open or hard on the brakes when out rideing, and yes quite often we hit top speed on about every ride. Thats what makes it fun. Why in the world would anyone buy a great machine and only putt around on it like a 90 year old man?
With the Sport Utilities you get 4X4, cushy ride, great acceleration and a hauling aZZ top speed. Thats why they sell so many and everybody and there brother now makes one.
A couple years ago the only manufacturer making one was Polaris.

I said top speed was unimportant? I guess I'll read my post again. I am simply stating that I don't think most people ride there 4x4 like you do. They will all go over 60, which is probably fast enough for most of us. Obviously there are some people out there that need to say there's will go 1 mph faster than somebody elses.
