OK, IT'S TIME FOR A NEW SET OF REAR TIRES FOR MY R! i run 18-11-8 turf tammers now (grooved). i was thinking of the new holeshot mx tires or maybe a 18-9-8 turf tamer. what do you think? does the holeshot grip better than the grooved turfs. the hole shot is very important (especially if it's the only time you can be in the front, lol)
my R is a no-link big bore honda 250r with pep zps shocks and i weight 225 with riding gear.

 

racing for points and money? new tires for every race. sounds expensive. new razors every event.

 

holeshot mx's hook up a lot better than turfs for the hole shot, but turfs slide a lot better in the corners.

If i was you I would go with the 11 inches wide cause the more the wider the tire the better for motocross

 

i agree with efg, we have run both. the holeshots are better out of the gate but get too much traction in the corners. the tamers are better for sliding the corners but i guess it would depend on how your quad is set up too.

 

on sandy or loamie tracks i run cut turfs.
hard pack i run hole shots .
just depends on the track and what to run

 

atc86r, not every race, lol i have run these turfs for over three years!!! don't ride that often. markvette, thars what i was thinking to, better holeshot traction and less corner sliding on the holeshots. i guess i'll get some more turfs and cut them again. i wish the holeshots would slide a little better. i like traction[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
