Lets hear the results of this war to settle an argument between my brother and I. He seems to think the Prarie can eat my Scram. Can it? I only want to know the facts. Not what you think!!! Remember we are talking stock vs. stock.

I have to say that I'd agree with your brother and side with the Prairie. I've ridden the 400 Scrambler with a Hotseat pipe and clutch kit as well as the Prairie. The Prairie is one powerful machine. If you want a closer comparison, put the Scram 500 up against the Vinson for example. Both 500's and sporty rides. After owning the Vinson, I can attest to the power of this 500 and can say that the acceleration is close, but not quite comparable to the Prairie. But for '03, Suzuki has upped the power in the Vinson so it'll be closer to the big-bores in every category.

From what I have seen, the Prairie 650 (I quess that is what you are talking about) will kill the Scrambler 500 4X4 in a dragrace. If it makes you feel any better, the Scrambler will kill a Prairie 400 4X4 though

I have an 02 500 4x4 and my friend has an 02 650 prairie and both of us have just K&N filters and I can beat him in a drag race by about a bikes length. When the scrambler was stock, he beat me, he insists he needs his belt adjusted and that is why I win now, but all I know is I can beat him 8 out of 10 drags.

My friend has a sc500. That's a really nice quad. We raced many many times. I beat him by a little, 2-4 quads to 50 mph. After 50 mph I'm gone. The sc500 is fast.

I rode with a scrambler 500 last week end. I think it depends on where you are riding.
Tight, twisty woods trails, I think the scram would take the prairie with equal riders just because of its sport setup. Up hills, straightaway's, over mud (especially mud over 6" deep) and just about anywhere else, I don't think it would be much of a contest.
Don't get upset because of this! You have to go with what you want and like. I think that the scrambler 500 is one awesome machine!
