First real trail ride with the Lectron 44mm
#1
I can't say enough good about the Lectron 44mm carb I just put on last week. As most of you might remember I had some problems getting it tuned, but I am happy to say it is performing 100% better now. I'm not sure what changed exactly but after trying many different metering rod postions I finally got it running right. Maybe part of the problem was the fact that the carb wasn't seated right inside the rubber boot that connects it to the intake manifold. Anyway, it has killer bottom end and it absolutely rips up top. It didn't miss a beat all day Saturday and I could climb steep hills in third gear. I do have to give it a little gas to get it started once its warm, is this noraml??
We also got a chance to do a lot of drag racing at Haspin. I raced many Raptors, Z400's, Banshees, LT250R's, and a stock DS. I dont think any of the Rators had any very serious mods beyond pipe and intake mods. I won every race except one where I lost to a Banshee. When I saw him run by himself I said that bike looks faster than mine, but there was only one way to find out. My friend lined us up and we both launched about even but every gear he would pull slightly further ahead. As soon as he could see he was ahead of me he got right in front of me and roosted right in my face. I don't mind losing but I thought he went overboard with that. After we got done racing I walked up to him to see if he was being an a@@ about it, but it turns out he was just having fun and was pretty cool about it. I couldn't tell what he had done to it because he claimed it was 100% stock. The chromed Toomeys and spotless engine led me to believe slightly different, either way his bike was flat out faster.

In my experience, It takes a shee with pipes and filters and atleast cool heads to beat me. You have more done than I do with the carb so i would guess he definatly has more done than just pipes, Thats no NOS by the way. One of these days I will get to race somebody with the NOS and see what it can really do. If I could just keep people from POONIN out on me.
Glad to here it is running good for ya, I know DSa's bike took on a whole new identity with his addition of the Lectron.
