Sportman Water pump seal?

How many of you folks have had to replace water pump seals? I had a 98 Sportsman 500 and after 1 year (600 miles) I had to replace the seal now with my 01 500 HO, 1 year and 3 months (1300 miles) same thing.
I have raised the overflow breather high up to the top of the gas tank and I've only use P OEM coolant. Having done all of this I still have the seal go south.
Am I the only one?
