Has anyone figured out what type of fluid to use in the polaris transmissions besides the expensive polaris stuff?

Hey, I personally go to the local auto parts store and buy a 2qt bottle of the lightweight synthetic gear oil. It is enough to do a trans oil change at least 4 to 5 times and the best I can remember it cost about $22.00. The book recommends (at least for 99-up) a gear oil. I bought a 2000 trailboss 4-stroke and it had 0w-40 synthetic oil in it, the same as the engine took. That is what Polaris dealer told me to run in it. If it has regular oil, go buy a quart of castrol or mobil one synthetic oil and dont worry about it. Hope this helps,Bubba

Best bet is to run the $10 a quart Polaris stuff.if you ever pulled a tranny in one of these things it is better to be safe than work your but off for tring to save a buck.

You can buy the econo-jumbo size jug, and save a few bucks, then you're set for a few years.....or team up with your buds.
