big bore ac to come
#2
There were rumors of a Suzuki big bore for a mid year release, one Cat dealer told me he thought there was a 700 in the works. Possibly a twin cylinder, yet another dealer told me that Cat views the 500 as having enough power to keep up with all the big bores and didn't see anything bigger in the near future.

Arctic Cat is always one year behind Suzuki when it comes to motors, so once Suzuki releases something then Arctic Cat will get it. Look at the Z, Kawi already got but not AC. Look at the Vinson motor, again 1 year behind for AC. AC is just another name for Suzuki basically, with Suzuki giving them motors for their ATVs they basically tell me what they can and can't do, but its in their interest to keep them in the game but just a little behind themselves so they have the upper hand.
So look for a big bore in 2004 for AC and 2003 from Suzuki.

Sorry guys I forgot to mention that the dealer who said a big bore is coming also said that the engine could be something other than a Suzuki. Doesn't make any sense, but when I repeatedly questioned him he said it was due to Suzuki's unwillingness to provide engines without delays.

Yes, the overall fit and finish can be improved. But I really don't think it’s so bad that it would keep me from buying another Cat. With that being said next time I go to buy a new ride Cat better offer something to compete with the big boys or I'll look elsewhere.
