How much should I plan to spend on remapping my Cannibal with the Moto map?

I want that extra 1000 rpms, I feel like I am short shifting the thing now to not hit the limiter....

It depends.

Every dealer has their own rates on mapping.

At our shop, we do it free for those who purchaesed their quads from us. It's $27.50 for those who did not. [1/2 hour labor]

You will find that the majority of dealers also charge similar rates.

I have tried 3 different maps for free. My dealer is pretty cool and he just showed me how it worked and turned me loose on his laptop the last 2 times. He talked to c-dale and we tried a few different things on the moto map to see if it helped. A few minor adjustments can make a big difference. Most dealers wont charge you anything if you bought the quad from them but if you didn't the fees will vary from dealer to dealer.

Mountainman - Can you give us some hints on what things to change on the moto map? The only thing I have changed is the injector offset.

We just tried some things with the fuel pressure and he tried a few things with the timing(I think). I was just watching when he was on the phone with c-dale and he was changing things pretty fast. We raised the fuel pressure first and then he worked on the timing. I know that when we raised the fuel pressure I could feel a little bit of a performance gain. I will talk to him and see exactly what he changed. He told me to come back and he may be able to do a couple more things to help so I have been planning on taking it back in anyway.

SparkeyEx,

Did changing the injector offset help any? That may be something else I can try if he didn't already do it.

Mountainman,
Next time your there have the dealer save the modified map file for you, then you can send it to some of us to try in ours.

I changed the injector offset to 1.0 from .85 which is the default for the moto map. I does run better but mainly notice the difference at idle. Much smoother but I think it differs from bike to bike so this is something you have to play with to get set correctly. I bought the GP software so I could change these setting myself.
