William Yokelyy wins the Ironman!!
#1
Went to the Ironman today. It was awesome! William Yokely tood 1st and Bill Balance took 2nd, on a flat tire! They had to have swapped 1st and 2nd ten times. Great race. I met William Yokely, shook his hand, talked to him for a few minutes, and got his autograph. Hell of a nice guy. He did say that he will be running the KFX 400 next year. I, also, got to meet Mike Pendland and talk to him for a few minutes, too. He grabbed my boy and put his arm around him, knelt down beside him and told me to take a picture. So I did! Another really nice guy. Got his auto., too. He ran his race b4 I got there. He said he wasn't sure how he placed. He thought 1st, but there was a jam and he was waved another way, come to find out it was apparently it was off the course. So, he wasn't sure where he placed yet. He told me his Prairie just rocks.
So we get to our spot to watch. It's in the woods right at the top of a knarly hill. Yokely comes up and was in 3rd, the a Z400 got in front of him. Awesome! That was the 1st lap, so obviously that didn't last long, but it was about 8-9 miles into the 1st lap. There were quite a few Z's out there. The seemed to be doing really well. I do not know how the placed, however. There were some really bad jams on this hill. I got into the mix and helped some of these guys up the top, as did many spectators. Interactive racing! Freakin' cool stuff. My wife got hit by the front tire of a pro, not sure which one. He got a little squirley and headed into the crowd. He wasn't going fast. Didn't hurt her, but left a cool tire mark on here jeans. Scared the hell out of my 8 year old. The OLN network was right there filming, too. I was shoulder to shoulder with the camara guy. He told me it will air on Nov. 15th. I marking that down so I can remember to watch it!

It sounds like you had a great time. Any chance of you showing up on tv? I'll be sure to watch OLN when it comes on. Were there many (any?) cannondales there? I've only seen the cannon's race once before, and that was on an oval track. Its good to see that some of the top quad riders and nice. It would be a real shame if they were jerks.

Actually, Yes, there were several Cannons out there. Everyone that I saw were gray with the red headlight plastic. I'm not well enough versed in them to know the exact model with a quick glance. But, I did see many Cannons there. Quite a few Z's, too. There was 1 KFX in the race as well.
I guess it's possible I might have a second or 2 of fame! Since the camara was right there. Don't know!
Oh, yeah, there was a racer standing beside me talking to Yokely b4 I talked to him. I didn't recognize him. It was BILL BALANCE! I was a fool. I realized it when he took his helmet off on the podium. Damnit! I would have tried to talk to him, too. Oh well. William's my favorite, anyway.
