Default No power...

I was riding today and I pulled the clutch in and my quad just died. Rolled to a stop and I thought I was just out of gas. switched it reserve and I have no electrical power what so ever. No lights, no starter, nothing. Anyone know what this is. I was thinking a fuse if it is where are the fuses and how much do they cost?

The fuses are under the seat, one in each side, and they cost nearly nothing, and if i'm not sure but i think they'r interchangable with eny ordinary car fuse, i comperd one of mine to one of my dad's jeep's and they are identical, but i'm not sure

There should be two extra fuses in your tool kit. (There was in mine)

But if it is now one of the fuses, i have heard of lots of peoples battery's just crappin out on them. (I dont know why that would make the ds quit)

I picked up the fuses and put the new ones in and it started right up. Thank god I didn't feel like dishing out another $100 for a new battery. Thanx guys

There is a reason the fuse blew. You have a short in your wiring somewhere and the next time you get miles from nowhere it will blow again. The Ds is waaaaayyy too heavy to be pushing.
If I were you I would be finding whatever is shorting out.
Take your gas tank, seat and front headlight (guard thing) off to expose the loom and examin everywhere it comes in contact with the frame or other conductive object. If there is a short you should be able to find it that way. Also could be an electrical component like a switch or a light. Intermittant shorts are a bitch, good luck.

I think I might have blown the fuse by jump starting it off of a car.(cause I killed the battery) and then the fuse finally went.

Of the two fuses under the seat, one is for the fan only, and the other is the main for everything.
Never use a car battery on a bike. You will damage the battery, at the least shorten its life. This goes for bikes, quads, all the like.

The one I replaced was on the right side of the bike.
