Default Exhaust question....Oh, priming also...

I have the Trinity exhaust on my Baja. It turned gold on me after a very short time riding. Anything I can do to bring it back to the way it looked new and keep it that way? Also, after priming my quad w/gasoline (I run methanol), I turned my fuel lever to the "on position", spun it over and fuel was running at a steady flow from both of my vent/overflow? tubes. I turned my fuel "off", cranked it, turned the fuel back on and everything is fine. What happened and how can I prevent it from happening again? Any and all advice is appreciated!

Boxman, do you have the stock gas cap? If so, sometimes the tank vent line under the tank s gets stopped up or pinched, it can cause this to happen or carb floats maybe? Just guessing though.

Check the float level...The methanol gets funny in this cold weather. Mine does the same thing. Just dont take the Acc pump screw out!

Where the float weight goes in the carb. The rubber part gets the white build up from the alcohol and can not close completely.

Boxman,
there is a product called BLUE AWAY that is formulated to remove discoloration from head pipes and restore the original chrome finish. It can be found in Harley shops and other shops that sell cruisers. I found mine at a polaris dealer. SIMICHROME is also a good product to polish and protect the head pipes, you rub it on , buff it a bit and wipe it off. It
last for a few rides for me than I have to do it over again- I guess that's the price of having a pretty pipe!
