Default SPORTSMAN 700 CARB UPGRADES

I HAVE A 2003 SPORTSMAN 700 THAT HAS BEEN HEAVILY MODIFIED. I AM TRYING TO GET THE TMX 38 THAT AAEN PERFORMANCE SELLS TO WORK. TOP END AND MID RANGE ARE PERFECT, BUT IF YOU TRY TO GO FROM IDLE TO WIDE OPEN THROTTLE IT BOG AND DIES. IF YOU GET THE RPM'S UP A LITTLE THEN GO TO WIDE OPEN THROTTLE ITS NOT AS BAD. ANY SUGGESTIONS ??? ANYBODY USING A DIFFERENT CARB ON A 700.

Sounds like it may be too rich or lean on the low speed circuit,Do you have an air cleaner on it,If not- too lean. There should be some restriction on the intake side-are there any adjustments? You may want to get the Mikuni tuning guide-could save you hours or even days guessing.

What do you have done other than the carb???

I tried that carb and had NO luck with it at all. I ended up using the HO carb---just bolt on and go!!!

Cool!!!!

Where did ya get the pistons and cam????

I had been wanting to do this to mine to finish it up.

How big of a difference did ya see from these parts?? I bet a bunch, b/c I didnt gain as much as I hoped from the pipe, carb, clutch kit, and air box that I have on mine now.

THE PISTON IS A WEISCO AND THE CAM IS FROM AAEN PERFPRMANCE. AND YES IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE, IF YOU CAN GET A CARB TO WORK. STILL WORKING ON THAT ONE.
