My brother in law just picked this atv up. It has 3 lights on the dash. Far left is the red reverse, center is a green neutral and there is another RED one on the far right. When you turn the key on a relay in the back clicks, the light comes on then automatically goes out.

What is this third light. We'll pick up a manual someday.

it might be the "oil temp" light. thats what the third light is on my '87 250 fourtrax. hope this helps.

 

DirtDevil is right.

There is an oil temprature sensor on the engine that activates the light when the oil gets to hot.

It comes on at intial startup just to let you know that the system is working properly.

If it comes on when while you are riding, stop the engine a few minutes for a cooldown. This happens alot on quads used for work or where slow riding for long periods of time occur.

If the light ever comes on right after you start it up and doesn't go off, you most likely have a bad sensor.........or a break in the wiring.
