WTF! why was everybody griping about kawasakis CVT in the chat?

you should be thankful for a new V-twin sport! i dont think that it matters about clutch, you can do all kinds of riding with the new 700 because of the ground clearnce and auto shaft drive will go through mud! and with shaft no matinence and belt no broken or grinding gears just mabey a belt snap but thats a quick fix, I think a change is good!

I'm with you. I have 2 autos and they can be fun, especially in the woods. What was with all of the obnoxious BS in the chatroom. I was late getting on, so I never got to see when the 700 will be in dealer showrooms. Anyone get an answer to that one?

I think they were inexperienced kids that had those concerns, or adults that were less developed. Kawasaki knew how to deal with the "experience disadvantaged". It is too bad that so many of them were there wasting time so that better questions could not have been put forth.
I could have answered 1/2 of those questions, since some many of them were common knowledge. Everybody should have already known kawasaki's answer to that. They have let out that same answer to the press, and we just heard it again because we did not have the brains to ask better questions.
I wish I got to ask something. I was struggling to use the new IRC program for the first time. I kept getting direct messages and had a tough time getting back to the chat.

Most 650's don't need a valve adjust at 10 hr. Check at 1000mi or so, maybe 2000 if you feel lucky. The valvetrain is made read solid so they don't need as much attention.
Low speed cough=lean. Give it richer needles (dynojet needles are adjustable).

nyroc,
Tonight was one of the largest nights in chat. Kids will be kids It turned out with to many questions and not enough time.
BTW I like the line "adults that were less developed"

I agree,I think chains suck,I just got my 01 300ex back from the shop after the chain fell off in a mud hole and went through the case.Warranty covered it they said it was on right.Lets see a belt do that. My"belt drive" prarie makes my 300 look like its stuck in first.I know I know the prarie has twice the motor but its also twice the weight and its turning 28s.So whats so great about a manual tranny? No idea!I have a 700 on order i plan on racing everything on the trail just to show that a cvt, shaft drive, big twin, too heavy sport kawie can prove a point and beat everything out there.(I hope)lol.....LATER

I think the KFX 700 v-force will be nice because it will be a change instead of all the other companies focased on pure sport or pure monster 4x4 Kawasaki made a mix of them all to compete in all classes! would you want clutch when you are trails that are tighter than your quad? I wouldnt, I already found that out! I like that its shaft drive because it wont get hung up on much stuff and has very low matinance! Think if kawai wanted to put a V-twin that wasent CVT or auto then they would have to wait longer and design a whole new motor and test it and ect ect that would take forever and cost alot! they were fortunate to fit the reliable 650 motor that has already proved its self in that frame
