Building the ultimate toy.
#1
I am in need of some help. I am wanting to build the ultimate quad. I had a 97 CRB 600F3 that was crashed. I now have the complete running gear out of this bike. I am wanting to put it into a frame, and build a quad using this for the engine. This engine is bone stock, and makes close to 100 hp box stock. It will spin up to around 12,000 rpm, and is very quick. On a quad, it would be VERY mean.
My other option is a 1997 RM250 with $6,000 worh of work done to this engine. Crank has been welded, rod lightened, Weisco piston, ported cylinder, size (don't remember), Cool Head, reeds and cage have been worked, atomizer carb, trans has been worked, and re-geared, etc. This thing is wicked fast. It won 3 years in a row track champion on a 250 mini-sprint. My brother has stepped up into an Outlaw Sprint, and I have access to his old car parts.
What are my options? I have done a lot of searching for a frame that will accept the 600 engine. It is a 4 cylinder water cooled sport bike engine. Either way, I know this quad will be a brute, I just can't make up my mind which way to go.
Thanks in advance

Had a guy in Mississippi that was running that setup on a LT250R frame. The fit was good. Didnt look like it was butchered up.Told me they basically built the middle frame around the engine and went from there.Hhe was running 4.9's in 300ft dirt only crossing in 2nd gear. He would shift out of first at 12,000 and ride it out. Bubba
