Magnum 325 gear noise
#2
Ok, here is the actual post.
I recently purchased 02 Mag 325 from dealer and this is my first ATV in several years.
It seems to have excessive amount of gear noise from tranny and rear diff. I checked the oil levels and they are in spec according to manual.
It this gear noise I am hearing "normal" for 325 Mag ?

Firehawk,
Thanks for the info. I have 2WD and have some gear noise from tranny in low also, but not enough noise to concern me. The noise from rear diff at higher speeds is what I am wondering about.
Is the noise common ?
Does it have straight cut gears which contributes to noise ?
Seems too loud to me, but had a '91 Landcruiser that had noisy transfer case and had over 150,000 miles on it when sold it.

It's normal! Nothing to worry about.
Just keep an eye on those fluids and change them a couple times a year.
Most new polaris owners freak out about the "grinding" noise. It's normal and we all had to adjust to it.
Good luck!
