Don't but the square digital one from Polaris. I bought one for my '01 Scrambler. $50 and it lasted about a month. The kicker is there is no place to replace the battery that I could find. It looks like a sealed unit. The dealer wasn't any help and wouldn't replace it because it is a electrical part.

Lot's of people adapt the Sun tach, available at most auto stores. Also HPD has a nice compact analogue unit, I've put mine through many wars, and it still works great. I'll be runnin' my machine up to their shop soon, so they should be able to see how it will adapt.
