Default 99Scrambler 500 rear height

I have a 99 Scrambler that sits low in the rear end. I ahve tried adjusting the spring but have had no luck. I also have a 00 scrambler that sits almost 5 inches higher. I cannot beleive there would be that much difference in one year? Can someone help me figure out this problem. On the 2000 the spring is all the way on the bottom of the seat, i adjusted the 99 the same way and it made no diff. If I crank the spring up, will it raise the ride height? It looks really strange sitting next to the 00? Thank you

I think that is just wear on the shock. My '99 will sit low if the spring is at the bottom. I have it turned about 1" up the threads and it works real well. Don't go too high or it will ride like a Honda.

I cranked my '01 rear adjuster as high as it would go as I am 200lbs and wanted as much suspension there as possible for when I jumped it and found it lifted it about 2" from top to bottom adjustment. It sounds like your rear spring may be wore out and collapsed a little. Maybe take it out and measure it with a new one from the dealer and make sure it isn't collapsed. 5" is quite a bit! Your shock could also have something wrong with it and it is not fully extending which could be limiting your travel.
