Default '99 250 intake valve problem

I had been having a problem with the intake valve getting tight on me, causing me to readjust it many times. This last time I tried to readjust it, I found that the top spring retainer on the valve is touching the rocker arm. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, what steps were taken to correct it? I'm assuming I'll need to replace the valve, & hoping like crazy the head isn't damaged.

Thanks

sounds like you've got Valve seat resession. head might not be shot but will need to be taken to machine shop for a new valve seat and better get a new
valve as well ...the only other thing it gould be is the collets holding the valvespring in place have come off or failed in some way ..still going to need to strip the head any way to asses and damage ..take a look at www.brownsleisureworld.com
for the diagrams on the cylinder head so you can get a better idea as to whats going on in there ...
good look by the way...D...
