Default Rath's Predator in DW Mag.

DW actually like the Pred and had many good things to write about. They said "Our impression was that Rath's mildly modified Pred was as close to being fully race-ready as many of the $15000-$20000 racing quads that we have ridden over the years."
The only mods on the Pred were the slip-on, air box mod with K&N filterand re-jetting. He said for $300 you can gained 8-9hp. Other mods were front rezzies with stock shocks, nerf bars, MX tires and beadlock rims, raised pegs, tag handel bars and a steering damper for TT racing.
They also said, it felt like you drove the Pred rather then ride it. Very predictable and the harder you ran it, the better the suspension handeled it. They said the Pred feels like it can do no wrong on the race course. That you could easily race it and win on it in virtually stock trim.
Rath even said his Pred has more power then his hand built KTM 520, yet very smooth and easy to ride. There is more to the artical, so if any questions, let me know. So looking at this artical, those of us that have a Pred and those who are getting one, looks like we got a winner.

Dirtwheels loves the pred now but wait a lil bit and they will try to find something to bash it. The same thing happend to the DS650,TRX400EX, and the RAPTOR. So far there is nothing to bash about the pred. I had a piped 02 Raptor and loved it, but then I went to the dealership one day and saw the predator on the showroom floor and I LOVED IT I HAD TO HAVE IT so I sped home threw the raptor in the truck and traded it in and I have no regrets.I think the raptor had more torque at lower rpm but this pred relly shines on top. I think that my 03 preator is definately faster then my Raptor.

Don't forget how little respect they've given the C'dales too. Scan Dirty Wheels at the stand, and leave it behind.

That article also states that Honda rims will bolt up. This is not the case as I just tried to fit my paddles on 400 EX rims and the bolt pattern is no where close. Very disappointed. I had to go rip around on the 'ol girl which instantley made the world right again !!!

Thumbs up Mr Rath? I'll give him my thumb......

Yeah, I wish the guy would:

A) Answer his phone
B) Have an email address listed on his web-page to contact him
C) Empty his voice mail as it’s been full for the last 2 weeks straight.

What "incredible and exclusive products" has he developed for the Predator? Hardly any, he's just the first to get published is all, the rest is common bolt ons.

I'm genuinely curious though', about the "raised" footpegs, footpeg wing extensions ($12-14 through James Lucky) but I’m guessing he'll want $85 for the wings or $225 like Doug "bend you over" Roll for double wide foot pegs, and he simply used a Gary Denton steering dampener from a Raptor to fit his Predator (according to Denton themselves), but with that steering dampener you have to mount the front shock res'ies back behind the front frame tubes, which make quick adjustments a PITA while riding.

No slam to Rath, but if you're not going to answer your phone or provide a way to contact a business, there aren't going to be very many sales. Math test. Sales = Money right?

Oh, and I forgot the patented "cut a 2x3" hole in your air-box idea of Raths...........gee, I wish I'd of thought of that first..........

Off my soapbox for now. almost...............$225-$250 for double wide footpegs???? Who can really honestly justify that other than maybe a cocaine dealer, or maybe a dozen Pro Quad racers in the whole country? These guys are pricing themselves out of 98% of the market.
