Banshee or 650
#1
Hi, I now own a Scrambler and i need something I can Jump better with. I am going to get the ds or a new banshee. I was wondering how dependable the ds is. I am going to do lots of riding and put on lots of miles so dependability is important to me. I now have a 95 scrambler with 9000 miles on it, so I think i need to upgrade.

If you are looking to do some jumping, the DS has the Banshee beat hands down. I have a DS now, previously have had a 99 400ex and have ridden banshees and have many friends with them. There is absolutely no comparison. The reliability should not be a problem. Everything on the DS is built stronger. The tie rods are thicker, the a-arms are thicker, everything is built to last. Everything is also greasable. Granted the DS is going to cost more, but you would have to replace the Shocks, a-arms, and rear axle, just to compare to some of the features the DS offers. By the way, I also live in Wisconsin. 45 Minutes north of madison in your direction. If you want to find out more, just get a hold of me. I have been to Dyracuse with both the 400ex, banshees, and the DS. The perfect place in Wis. to check out the jumping. If you are interested, I might have to sell mine soon.

One more thing I forgot to mention. The motor in the DS is basically the same as the one in that BMW on-offroad cycle. That thing one the paris to dakar rally. VERY many miles, no problems. I believe they took all of the first four places overall if not more. The motor has been around long enough to get a great reputation. If BMW uses it, it will last.
