Default Scrambler 400 vs. Predator

I'm a 2-stroke guy at heart, but I have a feeling I'll be unable to avoid the 4-strokes for much longer, so here goes:

Which bike has more potential for riding fun in the sand, the Scrambler 400 or the Predator? Anyone know how these two bikes handle when compared to a Suzuki LTZ400?

Typically, I've found that 2-strokes have much more potential for power than 4-strokes, but perhaps not.

Your opinions are appreciated.

Thanks.

Bang for the buck, you'll have a hard time beating the Predator. After lots of time....and lots of money (well spent, no regrets)my Sport/Scrambler is almost on par with a Predator handling wise. Modding has been fun, but takes time, get one ready out of the box.

If they had the same tranny on the predator frame you would definatly want the 2-stroke 400, but since the scrambler wieghs so much, and has an auto tranny.

The predator has the better advatage. I would get the predator.

I traded in a moded 2000 Scrambler 400 2X4 for the Z, and I also used to be a 2 stroke lover, not any more.

4 Strokes give you---

The plug never fouls 20 miles from home
The power is always there, not a narrow little power band 1000 rpm from the top
You can ride it for hours at slow speeds with the kids, then just nail it and go whenever you want
Much less finicky with jetting
better gas milage
no smoke
quiet operation with stock pipe, means more areas to ride in, and fewer headaches
Newer 4 strokes are making big power and the weight is way down compared to just a few yaers ago

2 strokes give you---

cheaper mods
a power advantage over the same size 4 stroke
cheaper rebuilds (bore job, piston, rings, reeds and its a fresh motor again)
and thats about it

Don't be afraid of the 4 stroke, they offer a lot that the 2 stroke never will.

In a straight line with a high traction surface my Scrambler was probably a little faster, but thats the only place it was.
The Z has razer like handling, and more power then you can even use in the tight trails, very powerfull and the best handling quad I've ever ridden.

Scramblers are down right scary bad handlers with stock tires and worn tie rod ends, it was a white knuckle ride and not from the power. The Motor was awsome when wound out, but always had a low to mid bog/stumble I never quite could figure out.

With the Z you just point and shoot, its like a crotch rocket on the trails, FUN FUN FUN.
