Well here it is, i've got my raptor apart and putting in 02 gears. It was starting to go out. I didn't want
to risk it. Well one of my dogs knocked my piston off my workbench and knocked a chunk out of it. So I wasn't going to add a new piston but I will now. It looks like everyone likes the Je Piston 11:1. where did everyone get the best price. I am going to put the stage one hotcam in. will this work ok with stock exhaust. I'm not going to be able to get new exhaust for awhile now. since yamaha won't back thier pos up. TIA

I think most people get the piston right from JE. You should be alright with stock exhaust, you'll have massive low end. Hold on when you let out the clutch.

pyscho, since the dog wanted it so bad I'm going to make her eat it. lol

Massive low end, I'll just sit on the handlebars.

I got mine straight from www.jepistons.com. About $150 clams. Got my stage 1 straight from hot cams.

Thanks guys, I PMd 14 to see whats up.

Do I need to rejet for a piston and cam? I also thought about removing the snorkel and adding a couple holes in the airbox.

TIA

You will definately need too jet up wit the piston / cam addition...which means the new combo is moving more air (a good thing). I would ditch the air box lid as well....and run a high quality filter oil.
