Around the wheelwells of my 2000 SP 500 are black plastic "mudguards" that are bolted to the color impregnated plastic body panel. Over the winter when it was mighty cold I must have banged the front edge of both sides of the front edge of the rear 'guards' and either cracked one side, or on the other side actually broke it where it fastens via bolts to the big plastic. Anyone know what type of plastic the black guards are, or has any one broken or repaired theirs? I don't feel like spending any more money on parts, and was wondering, when removed, if they can be 'plastic welded', or fiberglassed or how about crazy-glued?
I would like to bolt on 5" wide rubber skirts one the edges of these black plastic skirts, but the heavy rubber material will surely put a lot of strain on any cracking or breakage. Gotta put these extensions on, bigger rubber now throws just way to much mud all over the quad, and on me as well.

I just bought the rear fenders and they are only like 14 dollars a piece so that would probally be your best bet to keep it looking good. The floor board is very expencive though 107 dollars. Good luck

Yeah it tends to suck how the dealers will sock it to you. I checked the only two place in the area that sell polaris parts and they were about the same at both. I guess it depends on the part of the country you are in who knows.

I fixed my plastic by using JBWeld and then drilling new holes for the screws. It hasn't broken since.

Gotta try that JB weld, 'cause after closer inspection, I've got a crack in the floorboard too. Winter driving is just too damn cold. Wish they would have used some kind of rubberized material on the fenders though!
