Let me know if anyone put a in-line fuel filter on their sport quad. Did it work good? Why don't they put them on from the factory? You think it would be a good idea. What kind did you use?

I highly recommend an in-line fuel filter between the tank and carb. I run one on both of my 250R's and have no problems with fuel flow. It's cheap insurance to keep any sort of crud from getting into the carb.

Thanks, I have a 400ex and already have heard of stuff getting stuck in the jets or carb. I don't understand why they all don't have them? I suppose I could just go down to the honda dealer and get one or should I get a special kind?

Yep, just go down to the local dealer and pick up a small inline one.

of course we run inline fuel filters.. they are cheap, just cut the fuel hose and slip them in.

you DEFINITELY need a fuel filter. just take a piece of your gas line to the dealer or lawnmower shop and get a filter that fits. i'm using one off a snowmobile. i installed it after a piece of dirt got lodged in my main jet. it could have gotten very expensive.

as far as the manufacturers go, they must feel that since gas ALWAYS comes clean from the pumps and dirt RARLEY OR EVER gets in the gas tank, there is no need for a fuel filter......yeah right.

The fuel filter is a definate, but I would also suggest a crank filter for the 4 strokers

Where is one of these located, and is it easy to install ?? What is the cost ? Do I ask for a crank filter, or use something else ??
Thanks !!!

I'm not sure about other bikes, but banshees have a filter built into the fuel spigot. To run alcohol, i removed the one from the backside of the spigot and added an inline billet one.
