Default Trailblazer 250 2001

I was wondering if anyone has had to replace a transmission case on there trailblazer, a friend of mine has one and even after me warning him his chain was spent kept riding it the chain broke and wrapped around the front sprocket breaking that half of the case. So what my biggest question is can you buy just half the case I would think so it looks like you would be able to he was told you can't, he also let it sit outside for about a year and know it won't start I thought the carb probably just needed cleaned or rebuilt. Any thoughts would be appreciated THANKS

Sounds like he dont take care of it. Yes you can buy just the transmission case half. They are not cheap. About $180.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

Once you split the cases more than likely it will need other parts too like a chain and shift fork just add anothere $100 to the price of a case half.

It is very quick with all the mods that i have and i have not put much cash into it. I can beat a stock Scrammy off the line and pull ahead untill about 50mph and then the Scrammy catches up and slowly pulls away. I top out at around 63-66 mph. I have had it up to 66 mph few tmes but easily 63-64. Now i have it ported so i hope that is a consistant 66mph. Most are amazed on how fast it is. The TB has a bad rap for being slow. When i tore the engine abart to send it out to be ported (BY BUBBA297) the cylinder was almost perfect. Piston looked great. It has been very reliable for me.
