Default gps unit, any suggestions

I've been looking at the magellan sportrak map, but don't know much about the gps units. Anyone have any. I want a unit that would work in forest conditions and have cool features. If you have the name of the units and maybe the price range it'll be greatly appriciated.

i have the..............garmin etrek venture.........

it's pretty nice costs about $179
they have 3 or 4 differant (garmin-etrek) models from about $119 to $279

they are small and you can get a handlebar mount for them.

i just tried out my new mount last weekend,
it held up great and i do lots of jumping and hard riding..
very nice unit....

hope this helps a little...

do either unit come with the mapping software which gives you the nearest roads and rivers?

I got the rino 120 and 110 for Christmas and I am still trying to figure them out, but you get a two way radio and GPS in one unit. One of the selling points of these is it sends your location to another rino user within a 2 mile radius, (works off FRS frequency). plus the radio features GMRS which gives the Radio a 5 mile range. The 120 is the more expensive of the two but you can download more detailed city maps. it comes with a base map that has major roads and freeways.

I also HAD the SportTrak and loved it. (It is now MIA) It is small and packed with good features. Also easy to use. The software is handy to link up to your computer.

I got a Ram-mount to hold it on the bars and it works great. www.ram-mount.com
