trx 250r aftermarket electrics?

ESR (Eddie Sanders Racing) offers a kit based on modern (2000 I think) CR250 ignition. It is supposed to run real good, but it does not have a lighting coil so no lights with that setup. MSD also has a kit, but I don't know much about that setup.

MSD's for the 250r is pretty good. I love the DYNA on my banshee but I don't think they make one for the R. If the 2000 CR works on an R, the dyna for the 2000 CR might. Call dynatek or www.dynaonline.com. The dyna has 2 RPM window switches, holeshot rev limiter, rev limiter, shift light circuit, and infinetly adjustable timing curve. All are adjusted on computer then downloaded to the igntion.

the CR ignition is a good ingnition for racing and such. Your correct, no lighting abilities STOCK but they can be made to run a light. MSD makes an ignition but its kind of a bit*h because you have to run a battery. PVL also makes a "set" ignition and it also doesnt run a lighting coil

That is very true Lat. ill get you a name of another company that does the conversion as well. Just give me a few minutes. We run the CR's on all of our bikes, they are really nice, and very clean looking.

Alright, i did some research for you Lat. I couldnt remember the name, but i found it. The company is called electrex and their webpage is http://electrexusa.com. They sell a kit to run lights on the CR250 ignition. I havent payed too close attention to it since we run in the day time only, but i beleive you need to run a lower wattage bulb. At an idle its kind of dim, but it really wakes up when you start pulling some rpms. You just run the stock voltage regulator with this setup too i believe. Hope this helps Lat.
