Default Electrical Short Need Help

I have a 2002 500 Auto. I was wiggling the wiring behind the speedo while the quad was running and the quad quit. It blew the 15 amp ignition fuse. This happened twice.
I remember a post about someone talking about an ignition short at a connector.

This concerns me because my 9 year old boy and I rode 6 miles in 3 feet snow in below zero weather. I would hate to get stranded. I have a general idea where the problem is. I wanted to post this because I know there has been someone who knows exactly where the problems are.

Any advise is appreciated.

I think you will find some wires have rubbed or been crimped along the steering shaft, about where they go between plastic and frame and are shorting out the ingnition system. Get a good light and check, might have to cut some wire ties to seperate bundle.
