Default Air box options

What would be the best intake option for my raptor?
1) a foam filter, jet kit, and adapter plate 140$
or
2)Aluminum air box, foam filter, and jet kit. 275$ numbers are approximate.

Basically I want to get a little bit more out of my raptor without spending a whole lot more. Thanks for the advice on your setups and experiences.
I think I am going to keep some sort of lid on my air box though, i ride a lot of dirt roads, and wet areas.

Default Air box options

We just hacked a big hole in the top of the stock airbox, I'll post later after some tuning and let you know if it made any difference. (We actually cut a very nice square into it between the tabs that stick down off the lid that hold the back of the filter down and the front of the lid where it comes through the rubber intake.) We're running a bit more than stock - Wiseco 11:1 piston, Big gun full exhaust, Webcam Stage 2, DJ jet kit w/ 165/160 mains right now (still might need a bit richer up top, hopefully with open airbox lid). Still running stock filter at the moment, aftermarket foam of some brand will probably go in next week. Anybody else try this yet?
