Anyone have wheels with reinforcement rings like the ones made by OMF?, if so, are they just welded on? can a local aluminum welder do the job? Did you buy them already installed or have someone put them on? thanks for the info.

I bought a set of wheels with rings already installed. The rings are just welded onto a .190 wheel. An experienced welder could install a ring onto a standard aluminum wheel. The rings can be purchased seperately from James Lucky 1-800-233-2637. Although a good machinist could make a set of rings. I took my wheels (with rings already installed) to a local fabrication shop. A guy in the machine shop said he could make a set of rings and weld them in, but he couldn't give me a price because the labor time couldn't be figured.

Just shop around, because a 8" wheel with rings installed on both sides can be purchased from James Lucky for about $90.00. A premade 8" ring cost about $25.00, then you will have to pay to have it installed.
