O know of Silverlake Dunes in MI but its like 10hrs away from me..
I know of Dunes in TX, OK, and ID. CA and WA are simply to far.. What is there in the midwest or southeast?? Does any one have a really good web page with all the US dunes listed for ATV use?? How about ratings??

The dunes out west are worth any distance you must drive. You only live once..

I'm in Indiana and in the same boat as you. Silver lake is 6 hours from me, but worth the drive, and the next closest worth the drive is Oklahoma 14 hours from me. Silver Lake is only 500 acres - but its hell of a nice 500 acres, and Little Sahara OK is 2000 acres. No dunes there are bigger than Silver lake, but there's a lot more of it. Good wooded trail dunes too, awesome at night!
This year, we decided to go where the real action is though - West!! 26 hours to Little Sahara Utah and St. Anthony's Idaho, and I'm sure it'll be well worth it!

Delta, Utah. It's actually 35 miles past the dunes if coming from the north which would be I-80 then south on I-15 to exit 248. You will be on highway 6 to Delta. It's about two hrs from SLC...

There are dunes just outside of Rock Springs Wyoming. They are not real big, about 38,000 acres total, but only 10,500 that are open to riding. Here is a link .

It is about 45 minutes from Rock Springs, only about 30 miles, but 20 or so of that is dirt road, if coming from the east you can get off somewhere before rock springs, wyoduner can tell you that is how he comes.

They are pretty good dunes, but alot of razorbacks. If you are coming that far anyway, I would go the extra few hours and hit little sahara, then go up to St. anthony.

If you come this way let some of us know and we can hook up and ride.

later
