hey nyroc, question about washington park
#1
i have a few questions about washington park. me and a few friends plan on going there this spring for an atv/camping trip for a couple of days. i was wondering how the trails are and if there are enough at washington park to keep us busy for a couple of days . i checked out your website, very impressive. i looked at all your pictures on washington park. i am pretty sure that we would have a blast up there. i was also wondering if the trails connect to barnes corners/lewis county trails. i enjoy riding on actual trails, not blazing down a dirt road or logging road at 40mph. any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks jason

The washington park trails are only 2-5 hours worth (depending on the mud). They do connect to barnes corners, I did it once or twice. It is legal to ride along the road in lewis Co.. If you count barnes corners, then yes there is enough to take a few days. The gas stations sometimes sell ATV maps for $5 or so.
Don't go to washington park without the biggy tires. The mud isn't soupy at all. Ground clearance is all that matters.

hey thanks for the info. i guess that will not be a camping ride but more of a one day thing. i guess we will be going to the adirondacks or tughill region for camping/atving unless you have any suggestions. i am from the watertown area and don't really wanna drive more than 100 miles to get to a good riding spot, i have 26" bearclaws on my 99 kodiak. would that be good enough for washington park? thanks a lot jason

There are people that take stocker tires. Bearclaws will work. I could sell you some 28" mudzillas, but you can get by without.
You will have fun, but don't go anywhere without a winch. You can probably drive around most bad mud holes.
It may not be bad at all there after the weather has filled up some of the mud puddles.
