Dealer Smashed my atv: 2 choices- what would you choose?
#1
apparently the dealer finally fixed my squeaky brakes- they have shimmed the caliperapparently it wasn't sitting straight.
i had 2 small spots where the plastic had gone white- one on the tank, one on the cigarette lighter. the regional managaer was at the dealer to help fix the brakes so i asked the dealer to question the blemishes in the plastic while he was there.
the dealer called me today to say the bike's brake problem was finally fixed (see: "2003 kodiak 400 problems (worst purchase ever) LEMON") thread, but they were going to change the plastic fenders free of charge and it would not be ready till friday when the new parts came in.
the dealer in the past visits has always offered me to come get my bike and then bring it back when parts arrive.
they didn't this time, which i thought was strange.
curious about exactly what they did to fix the brakes i stopped by to talk to the mech to find out what they did.
the whole left side of the bike (fenders) were completely white from stress from being contorted, from front to back. i immediatley asked the mech "WHO ROLLED MY BIKE!?" he got very nervous and asked why? are the hbars bent? i said i'm going home to get my camera i'll be back.
i returned and took a whack of pictures. they then presented me with the "maybe some1 backed into it when we put it outside." don't worry we'll change all the plastics on the bike.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
feb 07/03 option 1- plastics changed- take back bike with 600$ cash returned to me plus warranty till aug 2003
option 2- new bike for 500$ plus tax (my expense) 6 month warranty
(cdn funds) 15% tax
any1 know what cost for dealer on 2003 kodiak 400 is? cdn$

Look it over really carefully, if all that is damaged is the plastic let them fix it, and try to get some free stuff out of them.
If there is more damage, ie. the frame or something, then make them buy it back or give you a new one. If they wont then contact an attorney and go after them.

Sorry to hear that Buddha.
Although I did have to laugh when I thought of the Mech's face when you started to question him about your bike and he answered with another question like "Why are the handle bars bent" What a dumb a$$.
