Just saw the new 500 2x4 today at a local dealer. Interesting part is that it had a build date of 4/3/2000. That means it was built just last week and is already on the showroom halfway across the country. Don't know why, but I was impressed how quickly it went from production line to showroom!

I test rode one last week. I was very impressed with the torque. The quad did a wheelie very easy when I punched the gas. I guess top out speed around 60-65 MPH. This by and far Polaris'best sports quad ever built.

Hopefulyl no we'll see some more mods coming out for the 500 engine. I've also that the 500 engine had a better and more powerful feel than the 400, although the 400 can be made to rip. Anyways, anyone know how much the 500 weighs? My guess would be around 485.

I think the new 500 will be great. But I still like the 400. It has 2 stroke snap, is a bit lighter, and is cheaper and easier to modify. Just my thoughts.

Hi!Does anyone have a picture of this new quad?
How does it look ? Is it like the 2wd Scrambler 400?
Thanks

The only thing that impressed me about the new 500 2x4 was the gas cap. It looked nicer than mine. Other than that, it was identical to a Scrambler 500 4x4 except a red seat, and obvisouly lacking the front drive line components.

I had the chance to ride it at the dealer but didn't take it. How different could it be from my 500 I have now? Maybe I'll try it out next time.

The headlight is the same as the 4x4 model.
