Making my final decision next week. I know they are very close in comparison. Help me out!! I know I'll be happy with either.

hey dude you should get a sportsman 600 twin because it is better, more power, more speed, more of everything you want with a twin, plus more durability

I looked at the Grizzly also but when it came decision time I bought the Polaris 700 twin and it is a great machine, the 600 is almost the same machine, you won't be sorry if you go with Polaris.

Man, I wish I was in your shoes. I don't think you could go wrong with either one. I rode an '03 Grizzly on trails last weekend and it was really impressive. Very powerful and fast. I've never ridden a Sportsman so I couldn't give you an honest comparison but I'm sure the Sportsman is just as nice or better.

The grizz is narrow and tippy, in comparison to the sp600. Overall i think the sp600, in stock form, would be the better of the two.

My buddy had a 02 Grizzly,it was fast and a comfortable ride.It was kind of tippy if you took fast turns and he broke two of his fenders riding slowly through some smallbrush. He is now going to buy a 600 or 700 Sportsman. The bottom line is I think all of the ATV manufactures (except for Polaris)are so hung up on making a machine 600lbs or less that the end product is not what it should be,they cut weight, the plastic is thinner, the steel is not as thick, the Polaris weighs more and that is a good thing despite what all the ATV magazines say.Get the Polaris its just better.

If you get the grizzy the first thing your going to want to do is get after market tires so why not just go with the 600 from the get go......

My sentiments exactly Bill. I wouldn't consider buying ANY jap bike. I wish there were more like us. The economy in this country would be alot better off.

Predator-don't all your Sportsmans have jap engines? Engines by Fuji or something like that? Thought Fuji made cameras...I could be mistaken. Who makes the Predator engine anyway? Really, I don't know.
Anyway, go to the Yamaha forum and ask and they'll tell you the Grizz. I've beaten on my Grizz pretty good and I've never had a problem. Never rode the SP600 so I can't comment there. I did get rid of a SP to purchase my Grizzly and I couldn't be happier. As far as the Grizz's stock tires, I agree they look weak; but I've tried and tried to wear them out or get a hole in them so I can get ATR's, but I can't! They're quite strong. Went through 5-6 tires (no joke) in 1100 miles on my Polaris....the Titan 489's. I love the lighter weight of the Grizz too.
The Grizz an be tippy if you don't use any body language while riding, other wise I don't think it's an issue. Never tipped mine.

Yep, they sure do. I wish they didn't. That's a pretty weak argument. If you are trying to justify buying a jap machine by saying Polaris has a jap engine....lame in my book.
