Default HELP! with carb adjuster cable

OK, the carb throttle adjuster cable broke on my scrammy. I order the new one and it will be here tomorrow. This may be a stupid question, but how far do I screw in the cable, how much do I adjust it? I looked in my service manual but couldnt find it.

Default HELP! with carb adjuster cable

If your talking about the adjustment on the carb itself you need to make sure that when your throttle is wide open, your slide in the carb is all the way at the top.You will have to look inside to see.If you are getting a factory cable then you should be able to go by the old one as a starting point, if you didn't remove it already.Hope this helps.

Default HELP! with carb adjuster cable

Yeah, it is the cable on the carb itself. Unfortunely I removed it without checking to see how far it was in in the first place. What is the slide. Sorry, I dont know jack about carbs Is it the butterfly thing? Thanks

Default HELP! with carb adjuster cable

The slide is what your cable is connected to.Just be careful that you dont damage your needle when you take the slide out.The needle will stay in the slide. When you get your cable post again and we may be able to help you a little more.Later.

Default HELP! with carb adjuster cable

OK CED, just got my cable in. It was on backorder for awhile. So how far to I screw it in? Does it adjust the idle. If I screw it in too far or too less can I adjust the idle on the etc? Thanks

Default HELP! with carb adjuster cable

Start with your adjuster screwed in about halfway at the throttle.Do the same on the carb, about halfway. Then start your bike ,then you can do some fine tuning adjustments with either end.Once you get it where it needs to be,tighten everything .Once you begin everything will make since.Later.

Default HELP! with carb adjuster cable

Well, I got it all back together. Now I am trying to start it I expected it to take awhile to start but this is taking forever. My battery is dead so I have to use the pull start. After about 20 minutes of that I tried spraying starting fluid in the intake. It started for about 15 second with the choke on then died. I kept trying for another 30 minutes until my hand was red. It sounds like it wants to go but wont. I am going to wait awhile and try again
