Default LT250R Oily Exhaust

My lt250R is running, but I'm concerned about the exhaust. The exhaust is kinda thick, white and spits a lot of unburned fuel or oil. I was wondering if anybody else has this problem. It seems to run OK but I am wondering if this is a result of it running to rich or if it could be a leak in the oil seals causing oil to enter the cylinder. I replaced all the gaskets and seals and it has less then an hour on it since. How can I tell if it is an oil leak? With the minor mods I have what main jet should I have in? Any help would be great.

If it is a bad seal, can I replace it without taking my crank out. I just rebuilt the engine and don't want to pull it out again if I don't have to. I hope somebody has an answer. Why would my exhaust spit fuel & oil?

Just a thought, but have you checked to ensure your exhaust valve is operating properly? I've seen that problem before. The little plastic tabs that hold the actuating linkage can sometimes break and cause the exhaust valve to fail to open and you will have all kind of gunky buildup and also loose power.

You may just be able to look through the little sight glass on the small cover while your engine is running and you should be able to see it moving to the open position when you rev it up. If you can't tell from that, simply take off the cover with the sight glass and make sure that the linkage is connected. There are 2 plastic clips that hold the actuating rod (lever) whatever it's called. Be sure they are connected and not broken off and that the linkage is able to open the valve. It's really simple! Hope it helps out!

The oily condition is not a big problem I have it on mine and my ex. valve is working . What bothers me about your's is that you said the gunk is thick and whitish? Usually that means you have water getting in somewhere, bad head gasket, base gasket or water pump seal, but you said you only have had it toghether for abut an hour, ride it a little bit drop your main jet down 1-2 sizes and see if that helps ,then check it again and see if you still have that "gunk" . If you do I would pull the top end and change those three things ,and flush your crankcase area out . Let me know how it works out.

The gunk is not white, the exhaust is. I've checked my trans oil and it's not white so I don't believe I have a water pump leak. It is not a dark black exhaust you get sometimes. It's just anything within four feet of the silencer gets oil splattered on it. I will try the smaller main. I thought that may be what I needed.
Thanks

Its definitley a too rich condition, If dropping your main jet down doesnt help (it should help some) then change your pre mix ratio to about a 35:1 ratio . I would drop your main jet mre than 2 sizes first though if you are getting that much oil splatter . I run about a 240 main and run my ratio at about a 35:1 ratio ,and still have a little of oil blow by. Good luck!!!!
