I just bought a Y2K Lakota for my wife. And prior to buying it I talked to Four Stroke Tech to make sure there was enough mods out there that would keep it in check with the 300EX, Mojave and Warrior. What I came away with is I can get a 350cc stroker (lots more torque), cam, porting, high comp piston and exhaust of course. But I was told on this machine keep the stock carb and just rejet. This fall the motor will get shipped to FST and next year my wife's quad will eat other sport quads.

thanks 4tacate that would work real good but im only 14 so im kinda limited to how much money i can spend. my dad doesent even want me to do anything at all to it but i need more power so he'll get over it. that will make the cilinder walls thin and i dont feel like messin it up when i go thrue creeks and mud i need the toruqe for the hill climbs near my house and the speed to keep up with my friends 300ex

Okay, I would start out with the pipe, all are fairly equal in performance but your dad might not appreciate a loud pipe so the Supertrap adjustable would be the best buy. Then just save up and the cost of the stroker kit, may be out of the question but save and maybee get a can and piston and check around for a good bike shop in your area for the pot work. Even without a stroker I bet you will still blow away the EX. Now, when I was your age my dad felt the same way but I worked my but off and saved up (used to race MX)to buy race parts and then he approved. Work and honesty in your hobby might give your dad and insight in what your doing. Basically, the sport will help keep you out of trouble.

Shave the head .020, then put a 300ex carb on with a Dynojet kit. K&N filter and go up one tooth on the front sprocket. If you can find a 300ex carb used this setup will cost less and run away from a piped lakota. I did this to my wifes and it made made it alot quicker a pipe is comoing up next but I'm going with a IDS2 system.
The stock carb is a vacuum pull slide and has no throttle response, it is a good dust collector for a shelf. The 300ex has a cable pull slide and an accelerator pump this really wakes it up. The engine was designed for a utility quad. As you can see I dont leave anything stock!!!!
