Got my rag yesterday. The top 8 sport quads competed, the Predator got the most props and the DS killed everything in 0-30mph, 0-45mph, and 20-40mph with the Cannibal close behind. The Raptor was mid pack speed wise and got slammed for poor suspenders and poor handling. If anyone wants more info., I can take another look and feed back more info.

 

what all did they say about the pred? it will keep me from having to stand at the magazines when i am at the store. i won't buy that crap anymore.

The Banshee sufferred in all drags, running with the weaker 400's.....no doubt due too wheelspin. You know the standard banshee statements....and of course, a couple of props about the Banshee 2-stroke power that some guys crave (me). In summary, basically every quad was mentioned too be best for a particular tester.....the standard politically correct response.
One thing that jumped out at me was the heavy front end of the Predator....all tests speak of it and it still seems too fare well in MX testing (C-dale was best with the Predator behind in this test). THis is one critical problem that is always mentioned about the Banshee and really hurts it in the shootouts....apparantly it helps the Predator? I think girl friends tested the 400's, not positive though.

 

Idontknow, Glenn and the folks at ATV Sport are by far the most accurate when it comes to testing. A much better system than the yahoo's at Hi-torque (Dirty Wheels, and ATV Action).

His Sport does 0-60 in 2 min flat.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] Did you mean top speed? The Polaris's are hard to get a high top speed without sacrificing low end grunt.

 

The radar runs we did for the magazine showed it was twice as fast as a stock 400 Scrambler....that was before the compression was boosted and the tires were widened. I'll have to get some times when I head down to Bubba's neck of the woods this summer.

 

Yeah, every quad except the 400EX. They were a little down on that quad for not having enough power and a too soft suspension. In fact it wasn't even mentioned in the final summary. Oh well, I can live with it. If I'd have wanted power, I'd have kept my Sport.

Hip, Hip, Hooray for the Predator's first win. Modquad is right about the Hi Torque rags. In fact he once said that he heard one of the editors of the before mentioned rags state that Polaris would never win a shootout. How's that for being biased.
