what were the tires polaris had on the older sportsmans ,i think they had a letter p on the side walls or in the treads . were these tires any good at all and does anyone have a picture of them . thanks jeff page

They are Goodyear Tracker Ps. Yes the do have the letter P on the edge of the tread. I have a set from my Sportsman in the attic. Need to get them on ebay.

They were as good or better than any other stock tire used, until they started putting the Rawhides on the Sportsmans. They are no 589s though.

Didn't they run Dunlops a long time ago like KT121 or somthing like that, my friend has a SP400 and it's like a '97 and it has them, is it only on the 400 models?

My Xplorer had those Dunlops on it. They had pretty good traction when new, but were a flimsier tire than the Trackers, and had shallower tread. The Trackers had a long lug down the center, which gave good sidehill traction, and less buzz/chatter on hardpack roads.
