Default Banshee 2 stroke & EPA

I saw a small clip in I beleive ATV Sport a couple months ago about the EPA banning 2 stroke engines for recreation vehicles. I was wandering if anyone has read anything else about this or has any more information about it. I'm trying to decide whether or not to start sinking money into my banshee or bite the bullet and buy 4 stroke?

No dont worry. Any existing bikes will be grandfathered in and cant be outlawed. Just like older cars dont meet current smog standards, but as long as they arent gross polluters(sp?) they cant keep you from driving them. They are trying to ban the sales of new 2strokers.

If you have a banshee build it, if you have the money spend it or send it to me and I will spend it for you!!!

they are not trying to ban two strokes it is a pollution prob not a two stroke ban.
and competion bike can still be two stroke.
so if a company wanted to they could build a brand new 2006 two stroke quad if its for competion use.

CT330, my understanding is they can't build them at all, not even for closed course.

Its not a ban on 2 strokes, Its a new law that will come into effect in 2006 for polution. Most Carbed 2 strokes do not meet the requirements (Including The banshee). Now most of the newer direct injected 2 strokes meet the standard already that are on jet ski's and snow mobiles and such. If an atv company would build a direct injected 2 stroke motor it would run cleaner than most 4 stroke motors and would still produce the same if not a little more power.
