How do Bleed the Brakes on 2001 250 4x4??

If you look on the brake calipers, you will see little bleeder zerks. They look about like a grease zerk. I've always heard the best way is to gravity bleed them. First, bleed them as you normally would. Open the cap on the brake fluid reservoir. Fill it up and leave the cap off. Get a small box end wrench (don't know the size, but it will fit over the bleeder zerk to tighten or loosen it). Loosen the zerk to open the flow. Then have somebody pump the brake lever for you. You will see fluid come up out of the zerk, and probably some air. Shouldn't take very much at all, but when you see a steady stream come out, tighten the zerk back while it is still coming out of the hole. (make sure your brake fluid reservior doesn't run out while you are doing this. Do the same for each one. Should be one on each front caliper and one on the rear as well. After the last one, I like to pump the brakes a couple times after I tighten it back up and then hold the brake lever down as far as it will go (thus keeping the cylinder open). Then use a zip tie or bungee cord to tie the brake lever back (as if it was all the time pulled back). Fill the reservoir back to its appropriate level, don't put the cap back on though. Cover it with something so that nothing will get into your brake fluid, and leave it overnight. Gravity will cause the fluid to drop and whatever small air bubbles that are still in your brake lines to come up overnight slowly. Only works if the brake lever is held back, because that opens up the lines. The next morning, most of the small air bubbles in your brake lines should have worked their way up and out. Put the cap back on the reservoir and screw it back on tight. Undo whatever you have holding your brake lever back, then pump the brakes a few times and you should have a pretty tight lever.

Yea just pump the hand brake hold and have someone open the bleeder nipple the hand lever will go all the way down. do not let off the lever untill the nipple is closed so that air does not go back into the brake line. Do that for all brakes and it jazz.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]
