Default Pics of Raptor without heel guards

My buddies were over last night and we had a few beers. At one point, we decided that my Raptor didn't need heel guards and were ready to break out the tools to "fix" things. Fortunately, we decided to wait:-)

Anyone done it? Any pics?

I took mine off after I broke them. I am currently making some alum guards...I hate riding without my heel guards

I took mine off because I did not like riding with them. I have a few pictures of it on a web site I started a few months ago. Sorry about the page I have not done much work on it. There are a few pictures though. I currently have my heel guards back on because I am ice racing and did not want my foot to hit the rear tires which have over 800 studs in them. That would not feel good.
Check it out.

Heel Guards are important. I've seen too many guys jump, not stick the landing, and have their foot slip back under the rear fender into the tire. OUCH!!!!!

I took my off, because they collect too much mud on the trails. I had to cut the brackets to support the fenders. I welded some Desiri footpegs to the stock pegs for some extra traction. This is a hot set-up for the trails plus it helps to shave some weight.

i wish i would of had heel gueards on my buddies 3 wheeler. we went through the trails, and there was like a 8 foot bank turn with woops on it, so i didnt feel like going on it, and i cut down way to close, the tire caught, and my foot fell off, got sucked under the tire, and it ripped me off, and it flipped over me. hurt hella bad. i had to quit football because of it too.

Thanks for the advice and pics (01Raptor). The Raptor does look a little "racier" without the heel guards but I think I'm going to leave them on there.

Chad - Isn't it amazing how fast the back tires on a 3 wheeler will grab your foot and yank you off the bike??!! Those things were death traps!

Took mine off as the nerf bars give enough protection + no mud collection.
