Default Brake Disk and Carb "Tuning"

I need some of your advise on brake maintenance. I have a 02 500 Auto and this spring I plan on going over the brakes, pads, disks ect. This is part of my yearly maintenance routine. On motorcycles I sand the disk rotors lightly with 220 grit. This gives the pads some grip and seems to prevent pad glaze. I noticed on the quad disks they are very smooth almost polished. Would I hurt them if I sand them slightly, would this take the sqweek out of them when I brake when wet? Or should I leave them alone?

Also, what is your opinions on stock jetting. I'm at 2400 ft. I think the quad runs rich, however in the dead of winter at full speed I can apply the choke full with no stumbling which suggests a lean condition. I don't want to invest in a $60 jet kit when all I need is a larger or smaller $4 main jet. The engine has no snap when reved. I know it could rev better.

Finally, are others having problems with the radiator cap letting fluid out the over flow under severe conditions? Is it a weak cap or is it doing it's job?

I know a lot of questions but I respect your opinions.
