Default Scrambler 400x rebuild WHEN????

After how many hours is it time to rebuild the scrambler 400 X motor. What is the normal compression to check for on these machines.

If you ride pretty hard, you should at least just re-ring it once a year. If you ride moderately, then once about every 2 years would be fine. Now take into consideration that in my part of the country we dont ride for about 3 months out of the year. The first time you tear it down the stock piston should be replaced with an aftermarket one.Bubba

Thanx
I usually put about 1000km on my machine a season which equals about 600 miles. The machine in question alredy has about 1000km on it already. Is it time for a rebuild?

If it's ever in question, go ahead and plan on it. The nice thing is if you buy a standard forged piston, the clearance is usually set a little looser, so you can just get it honed a bit and fit it up just nice.
