Default 38mm TMX hard starting?

I put the 38mm TMX on my machine a while back and ever since then the thing is really hard to start. You crank and crank and it finally starts only to stall, then crank a little more and it starts up. It runs fine and starts easy after its warmed up. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem after switching carbs and how they fixed it. THANKS

Is the choke opening fully? If your still using the cable, maybe your not getting enough lift on the plunger. I have run across that before. You might have to pull the carb and shine a light into the choke cavity to see if it's adjusted right.Hope this might help,Bubba

Default 38mm TMX hard starting?

The choke seams to be working OK and it is opening all of the way and closing all of the way. I looked at the plunger that came with the TMX and it looks totaly different. I am going to try to put that one in and see what happens.

Thanks for the help.

I didn't have any trouble and I even ran the choke cable. This is on my 93 350L.

Hughes, you found your problem. I remember someone telling me that they had to use the TMX choke pieces. Give that a try and see what happens. I think you will be set.Bubba
